| We are a Christian faith community with a unique mission and commitment to the students, faculty and staff of the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. We prayerfully strive to be
Christ-like by providing a source of guidance, spiritual growth and awareness of our
Roman Catholic identity, a challenge to service and an enthusiastic spirit of worship. We are a sacrament and proclaim God's love with the message of hope, sacrifice, reconciliation and everlasting life. We encourage each other to accept the
Eucharist as the Lord's invitation and the center of our lives. |

| Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults |
What it is...
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a program designed to introduce the Catholic Faith to those interested in joining the Church. The process combines prayer, study and conversation to help those interested in journeying toward faith in Christ and membership in the Catholic Church. The RCIA program is perfect for those learning about Jesus Christ for the first time, for our brothers and sisters raised in Protestant backgrounds and for those who were baptized Catholic but never raised in the faith. To explore whether RCIA is right for you, contact Laurie at stthomascm@yahoo.com or 479-444-0223.
RCIA meetings...
RCIA meets Monday from 6:30-8:00pm beginning in early September and continuing until the Easter season. The meeting time includes scripture sharing, the presentation of a topic of the faith and discussion. During the RCIA process there will be two special spiritual gatherings to mark the spiritual progress of the journey. During the months of listening, learning and praying, each person decides, with the input of our dedicated team, whether they would like to receive the Sacraments of Initiation in the Easter season.
Already a confirmed Catholic?
RCIA needs you! Each person inquiring about our faith makes that journey with a sponsor, someone who is already Catholic who can answer basic questions about life as a Catholic, attend Mass with them and talk about what being a Catholic on campus is all about. Being an RCIA sponsor is a great way for you to grow in the faith while serving the Church and making a new friend. If you can help please contact Laurie at 479-444-0223 or stthomascm@yahoo.com. |
