We are a sacrament and proclaim God's love with the message of hope, sacrifice, reconciliation and everlasting life. We encourage each other to accept the Eucharist as the Lord's invitation and the center of our lives.

Fr. Andy's Column

April & May 2008

It's just about time for many to bury themselves in their books, notes, and papers to prep for end of the year finals! I pray that you all may have a successful exam period and that your year may end on a very positive note.

As we enter the summer months, St. Thomas' schedule of activities relaxes a little, but we are far from closing down!

On Sundays we only have a 5:00pm Mass. Some of our weekday activities are suspended until the fall semester. We still have Mass on Thursday afternoon at 5:30pm. There are various other activities that will be held all summer. Take a look at our bulletin for details, and if you are around during the summer... come on over!

I am making a summer resolution to get back into doing some regular exercise! GASP! Yes, it's true! A serious attempt to keep a regular weekly racquetball series on Thursdays after Mass will be one of my goals. For a person who loves food as I do, this is a must! We'll see how the challengers will fare against the old, fat man. They threaten that a new, more capable ability on their part will now begin to equalize what has been a rather uneven, one-sided series of matches up to this point. They are probably correct!

Our physical health should be a concern all of us share. My parting message for you as you go your various ways for the summer is that you SPIRITUAL health needs your constant attention, as well. Make it a habit to continue the good things begun during the year pertaining to your practice of your faith. Be active in your home parishes! Meet your priest... your pastor there! Tell him hello for me! Keep that good habit of prayer going on which you have worked so hard all this year!

Be safe and have a fun and relaxing summer! Keep me and the other staff here at St. Thomas Aquinas in your prayers, as we do you! See ya in August!
